DNA/LD - LABOR DISTRIBUTION MODULE
DNA'S labor distribution module captures time card information for updating to the job cost and payroll modules.
Data may be imported from a time capture device, or may be manually keyed from a time card record. Updates to job costing may be done on a daily or a weekly basis, with the data accumulated to coincide with the payroll processing calendar.
Data may be validated to specific job codes identified with a job, or only checking to ensure that the segment is valid. Time may be banked for paying at a later date, and the cost of the time may be charged to the job at the time it is earned, or at the time it is paid out. Burden percentages can be attached to each time record when labor is updated to the job, or the actual burden may be posted to the jobs at the time the employee is paid.
Expense reimbursement and cost recoveries may be posted when reported. Routines exist to modify the labor records after update with full audit trails to track changes to correct errors found after the fact. Rates of pay can be unique to the employee, or gathered from a rate table whose code is assigned by employee.
Salaried employees may have portions of their pay charged to jobs with the associated journal entries automatically made to remove the applicable amounts from the GL salary account and charged to work in progress.
All reports may be exported to a text file for further manipulation by utility software. Eg., easily allow a spreadsheet utility to provide graphical presentation of the information.
